If you crank up your vehicle on a cold morning and the heater doesn’t kick on, the best thing to do is schedule an appointment with your preferred service center. However, if your schedule won’t allow you to visit a qualified technician in the near future, there are things you can do to keep warm. Here are a few tips for staying warm when your vehicle’s heater is out of order.
Park in the Garage

Cover Your Windshield
If you’re heater is out of order, so is your defroster. If your heater goes out in the dead of winter you should cover your windshield at night to avoid spending a lot of time scraping away ice the next morning.
Use Hand Warmers
Chemical hand warming packets can be a life-saver in this situations. You can purchase them in bulk and keep several in your vehicle. To keep your hands warm while you are driving, just place a hand warmer in each glove. You can also put them in a your pockets to keep your skin warm. Best of all, you don’t have to worry about them loosing their ability to keep you warm since they won’t activate until you take them out of the packaging.
Buy a Heater or Seat Cover
A step above hand warmers are heated seat covers that you can plug into your cars power outlet. You can find them for very affordable prices online, and enjoy full body warmth even when you car heater isn’t working.
